Why we love Peter Pan collar!

New week, new post, new collar! Who doesn’t like the Peter Pan collar? I personally love it on everything, anytime, anywhere! 

The round-cornered Peter Pan collar is named after Maude Adams, the first actress that played this role on Broadway in 1905. In order to play the young famous boy, she decided to co-designed her costume. Apparently, the costume became a fashion hit and eventually gave the now-famous name to the collar. Despite being named after a masculine character, the Peter Pan collar is associated with feminine wear, and rarely appears in men’s fashion.

Although the Peter Pan collar has been present for some time now, it climbed the fashion ladder after, inspired in sixties, Marc Jacobs designed his autumn/winter 2011-12 Louis Vuitton collection that featured a theme of the collar in the entire collection. Models walked the Louis Vuitton runway adorned in dresses, coats and blouses with the Peter Pan collar as the leading element.

Peter Pan collar gives classic and preppy look, which delivers feminine sophistication and childlike innocence. You can wear it flat or embellished with beads and sequins. It will look great with dotted fabrics or under a knitted vest for a preppy appeal. You can also match it up with a tuxedo or blazer jacket and see how girlie but really fashion will get this look.

And finally about my outfit for today, I have paired my Peter Pan collar’s shirt with a gold skirt and Mary Jane’s burgundy high hills. As you can see, that salmon pink shirt with dog-prints over it matches great with the skirt’s wool texture. Simple, but cute hair-do with jewel headband gives really chic, but innocent appearance to this look.

Kto nie lubi kołnierzyka typu Piotrus Pan? Ja uwielbiam go ze wszystkim i wszędzie!

Ten okrągły kolnierzyk zostal tak nazwany po Maude Adams, pierwszej aktorce, która zagrała tę rolę na Broadwayu w 1905 roku. Aby wczuc sie w postac tego słynnego chłopca, postanowiła uczestniczyc w projektowaniu kostiumów. Niespodziewanie wlasnie ten kostium stał się hitem mody i ostatecznie dał znane dziś imię kołnierzykowi. Mimo iz nazwa ma męski charakter, kołnierz Piotrus Pan, zwany tez kolnierzykiem bebe, wiązany jest przede wszystkim z kobiecoscią i rzadko pojawia się w modzie męskiej.

Chociaż wspomniany kołnierzyk jest juz obecny od jakiegoś czasu, to wspiął się po drabinie mody dzięki zainspirowanej latami sześćdziesiątymich kolekcji jesień / zima 2011-12 Marca Jacobsa dla Louis Vuitton. Jest on wiodącym elementem calej kolekcji, zdobi w sukienki, płaszcze i bluzki.

Kołnierzyk Piotrus Pan jest doskonalym dodatkiem do kazdego stroju, dodaje klasyczny i elegancki wygląd, pelen wyrafinowania, ale tez dziecięcej niewinności i slodkosci. Możesz nosić go zdobiony koralikami i cekinami lub gładki. Będzie wyglądać świetnie z tkaninami w kropki lub pod kamizelka. Możesz też nosic go ze smokingiem lub kurtka skórzana i zobaczysz jak doda strojowi dziewczęcosci, ale jednoczesnie elegancji.

No i w koncu o moim dzisiejszym stroju, jak mozecie zobaczyc połączylam moja koszulkę z  kolnierzykiem bebe ze złotą spódnicą i bordowymi butami na obcasie w stylu Mary Jane. Podoba mi sie ta gra tekstur i kolorów jedwabnej bluzki ze zwierzęcym nadrukiem z welnianą spodnicą. Do tego prosty, luzny warkocz z ozdobną opaską przemienia outfit w romantyczny i uroczy.

A quien no le gusta el cuello Peter Pan? Podemos llamarlo también cuello bobo o cuello bebé. A mí personalmente me encanta encima de cualquier prenda! ¿Todavía no lo tienes?

Este cuello redondo agradece su nombre a Maude Adams, la primera actriz que interpretó el papel de Peter Pan en Broadway en 1905. Con el fin de entrar en el rol de este famoso niño, decidió participar en el diseño de su traje. Al parecer, este se convirtió en un hit y finalmente dio el nombre a este tipo de cuello. A pesar de ser el nombre de un personaje masculino, el cuello Peter Pan se asocia principalmente con la moda femenina, y rara vez aparece en la masculina.

Aunque el cuello Peter Pan ha estado presente desde hace un tiempo, llegó a la cima de la moda, después que Marc Jacobs diseñó su temporada otoño / invierno 2011-12 de Louis Vuitton, colección que como su motivo principal tenia este tipo de cuello en todos diseños.

El cuello bebe da una apariencia clásica y trendy, que ofrece la sofisticación femenina y la inocencia infantil. Lo puedes usar liso o adornado con perlas y lentejuelas. Queda muy bien con jerseys o debajo de un chaleco, dando una apariencia preppy. También lo puedes combinar con un esmoquin o blazer para que hacer dar un toque femenino y moderno.

Finalmente os presento mi outfit de hoy. Como podéis ver combiné mi camisa de cuello Peter Pan con una falda en color oro pastel y tacones estilo Mary Jane. La camisa de color salmón con estampados de perros queda muy bien con la textura diferente de la falda hecha de lana. Este look simple junto con el peinado y diadema - joya da una apariencia muy chic, pero femenina e inocente a la vez.
