For the past few months peplum tops have been literally popping up everywhere. They made a real splash on catwalks. It was like seeing a flashback to the ‘40s and ’80s during catwalks of Dior, Jason Wu or Bagley Mischka.
So if you not sure I will tell you why you should love peplum – it’s really versatile and perfect for every occasion. This added ruffle adds a perfect ladylike flair to your ensemble. Slimming your waistline and accentuating your beautiful, womanly curves at the same time. With peplum, your silhouette will be looking fit and curvaceous in seconds.
And how to wear it? Since peplum is so voluminous, always pair it with sleek and streamlined pieces. For casual look wear it with fitted jeans or shorts and cute flats. For night out choose strong colour, trendy accessories and pair your top with high-waisted black skinny jeans and heels or go for more feminine look and choose a pencil skirt.
Personally I’ve been meaning to incorporate peplum into a post for a while, so I’m happy to finally do it today. I wear it in a night out’s version. I have my leopard peplum top from Asos and I wear it with leather vintage skirt and biker jacket. I think it looks strong and trendy.

Una de las mayores tendencias en las pasarelas y las alfombras rojas de este año es peplum. Por si no lo sabíais, peplum se refiere a una pieza con un volante alrededor de la cintura, que añade un volumen favorecedor para la mayoría de los cuerpos que crea una silueta de clepsidra. Tops, faldas, vestidos y chaquetas todos lo llevan y parece que esta tendencia vaya a quedarse aquí por un tiempo.
Durante los últimos meses el peplum aparecido por todas partes. Este hit de los años 40 y los años 80 ha vuelto con toda la fuerza en las pasarelas de grandes diseñadores como Dior, Jason Wu o Mischka Bagley.
Me encanta porque es muy versátil, perfecto para cada ocasión. Este volante añadirá un toque elegante a cualquier outfit. Aparte de esto adelgaza la cintura y marca las curvas, haciendo vernos aún más femeninas.
¿Y cómo usarlo? Como el top peplum es tan voluminoso, se debe combinarlo con las piezas slim fit. Para un look casual llévalo con los vaqueros ajustados o shorts y unas bailarinas. Para una noche fiesta o una cita apuesta por el color fuerte, accesorios de moda y empareja tu top con los vaqueros altos y ajustados y unos tacones, si quieres un look más femenino elige una falda lápiz.
Personalmente quise incorporar el peplum a mi armario desde un tiempo, así que estoy feliz de hacerlo finalmente hoy. Lo llevo en look más de noche. Tengo encima mi top peplum de leopardo de Asos, la falda de cuero vintage y chaqueta de motociclista. Me gusta esta combinación con poquito toque rockero:-)
